Privacy policy

Last updated: November 5, 2026

The short version

1. Who I am

This website is run by Keegan Purnell, an author and marketer based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I am responsible for the personal information collected through it. You can reach me at keeganpurnell@gmail.com.

2. What I collect

This site has no accounts, no comments and no payments. Book purchases happen on Amazon or other retailers, under their own privacy policies.

3. How I use it

I will not use your information for any other purpose without asking you first.

4. Your consent and unsubscribing

By submitting a sign-up form, you agree to receive emails from me. Every email I send identifies me and tells you how to unsubscribe. To unsubscribe, reply “unsubscribe” to any email or write to keeganpurnell@gmail.com. I will remove you within 10 business days, as Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires.

5. Who else handles your information

I don’t sell, rent or trade your information. A small number of service providers help run this site and may process it on my behalf:

If I move my email list to a newsletter service in the future, I will update this policy to name it.

6. Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. If I add privacy-friendly visitor statistics in the future, I will update this page first. Links to other websites, such as Amazon, LinkedIn and Medium, take you to sites with their own privacy policies.

7. How long I keep it

I keep your name and email for as long as you stay subscribed. When you unsubscribe, I delete your details from my list. I keep emails you send me only as long as needed to respond and follow up.

8. Your rights

Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Email me and I’ll respond within 30 days. If you have a concern I can’t resolve, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

9. Keeping it safe

I use reputable providers with secure, encrypted connections, and only I have access to sign-up information.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects how I use information you’ve already given me, I’ll ask for your consent again.

This policy is written in plain language to explain how the site handles your information. It is not legal advice.
